Citi Channel Ads - Frequently Asked Questions

Citi Channel Ads is a self-service advertising product that enables advertisers to reach a targeted travel audience. All you need is a credit card and a Citi Channel account to get started.

General Information:

  • How do I get started?
  • CAMP (Citi channel Advertising Management Platform) is a platform, where advertisers can deliver highly relevant, targeted messages to pre qualified consumers through:

    • Text Ads
    • Banner Ads

With CAMP you set up your ad account to control your total advertising costs through setting a campaign start and end date, maximum monthly budget, and the placement of your ads. You spend as little or as much as you would like, depending on the allocated budget that you set.

  • What is the Ads Agreement?
  • Ads Agreement

The Ads Agreement explains your rights and responsibilities when creating and working with Ads. It is made available during the creation process. You can also view the agreement online by clicking the Terms and Conditions link at the bottom of CAMP page.

Citi Channel reserves the right to revise this agreement at any time. You will be bound by such revisions. We recommend that you visit this FAQ from time to time to review the current Ads Agreement.

This agreement serves as binding contracts between you and Citi Channel that govern the advertisement transaction.

  • What does it mean when my ad is "under review"?
  • Ads Under Review

In order to maintain the professionalism and integrity of our site, your new campaign (and changes in existing campaigns) will not run live until our team reviews it, to make sure it meets our Advertising Guidelines.

We strive try to review our ads as soon as possible and always within 48 hours. If you ever have time-sensitive campaigns that need to be expedited please contact us to ensure your campaign is approved as quickly as possible.

If your ad doesn't meet our guidelines, you'll receive an email explaining the reason for rejection of your ad. You may revise your Ad to ensure that it meets our guidelines and resubmit your Ad.

The Under Review status also appears if you haven't entered payment information or if you create an advertisement while your account is on hold due to a declined payment. As soon as payment information is entered, the advertisement will be queued for our review.

  • What does it mean when an Ad is rejected as "competitive Ad"?

  • What does it mean when an Ad is rejected as "competitive Ad"?
  • Ads considered competitive:

Any Ad that we consider potentially competitive to our Citi Channel host partner website will be rejected. A Citi Channel host partner website is the site that is hosting our 'shared label' Citi Channel module on their website where your Ad will be displaying. Example: hotels and other accommodation websites, DMO websites, and others.

The decision to reject any such Ads considered competitive to our host site solely rests with Citi Channel. Citi Channel may consult with the our host partner site.

For example, a banner Ad from another hotel posted on our partner host hotel website will be rejected, unless the host partner hotel site approves it in writing.

Our host partner site may file an objection to an Ad being displayed on their site. Citi Channel will review and re-evaluate the competitive nature of your Ad, and if it's determined that the Ad is directly competitive to the host partner site, then your Ad will be rejected and removed from the host partner site and you will be informed of this action.

Pricing & Payment

  • How much does self-service advertising cost?
  • We bill banner Ads based on the number of times your Ad is actually displayed on the screen. The billing rate is based on 1 thousand impressions.

On board Ads are available on a monthly, quarterly and annually rate structure.

For current advertising rates and any special promotions please check 'Banner Advertising' and 'On-Board advertising' links under ADVERTISING FORMATS section.

  • What are my payment methods and billing cycle?
  • Citi Channel offers a Basic (free) account to all advertisers.

Banner Ads are invoiced & advertiser's credit card is charged at the end of each month for the number of impressions displayed. NOTE: An impression is only counted as appeared when it's shown on the readable part of the user's screen. For example: If the user does not scroll down and as a result the Ad is not displayed to the user it is not counted as shown.

For On-board Ads, the rate for the Ad is charged, and at the renewal anniversary date your credit card is charged for the following term, unless you choose not to continue with the Ad campaign.

In all cases you will be notified 7 days prior to your credit card being charged.

  • How does the daily budget work for Banner Ads?
  • Ads Daily Budget

Your daily budget is the amount of money you're willing to spend on a specific ad campaign in a single day. We display your ads as often as possible on a given day until your daily budget is reached. Once your daily budget is reached, your ads will stop showing for that day.

Please note that for a short period of time after your Ad has reached the daily maximum it may continue to display. You will be charged for impressions that are delivered during that time up to 10% beyond your daily budget.
